Biography
Showing “the deepest musical understanding, the highest precision and virtuosity, great inner creative power and an almost unbelievable colorfulness of sound” (ZF Kunststiftung), Xiaolu Zang emerged as one of the noticeable pianists of his age. Xiaolu gained international acclaim in the classical music world after winning the First Prize and Audience Prize of the 69th Maria Canals International Music Competition, as well as the Bergé Second Prize of the 20th Paloma O’Shea Santander International Piano Competition.
As a soloist, Xiaolu performed in important concert venues including Regentenbau Bad Kissingen, Graf-Zeppelin-Haus Friedrichshafen, Konzerthaus Ravensburg, Kleiner Goldener Saal Augsburg, Stadttheater Lindau, Konzil Konstanz, Salle Cortot, Théâtre Scéne Conventionnée de Laval, Teatro Filarmonico Verona, Wiener Saal Salzburg, Palacio de Festivales de Cantabria, Beijing National Centre of Performing Arts, Beijing Concert Hall, Shanghai Grand Theatre among others. His orchestral collaborations include Südwestdeutsche Philharmonie Konstanz, Niedersächsisches Staatsorchester Hannover, Orchestre Royal de Chambre de Wallonie, Südwestdeutsches Kammerorchester Pforzheim, “Mihail Jora” Philharmonic Orchestra of Bacau, with conductors including Pablo González, Douglas Bostock, Hankyeol Yoon, Frank Braley, Valtteri Rauhalammi, Florian Groß and Ovidiu Balan…
